Wow! This is bad (no play on words here), a very bad biker flick. So far this is the king of all really bad biker flicks. This portrays bikers in the very worst possible light imaginable. It falls into the wilding, rapists of destruction category; if there actually is such a thing. Oddly this mess turns into a creepy version of “Weekend at Bernie’s” without any of the humor. Damn this was hard to sit through.
In the film, the outlaw club is called “Angels” the bottom rocker reads San Pedro. With names as big as Peter Fonda, Nancy Sinatra, Bruce Dern and Diane Ladd you might think that you would actually get something good. How wrong you would be. This was so bad that Nancy Sinatra denounced the film for fear it would hurt her stellar career.
The plot is thin and slow and oh so boring. It is about an Angel member named “Loser” played by Bruce Dern; who ultimately becomes aka “Bernie”. His character uses more street lingo than I have ever heard anyone use in one sentence in my entire life. The movie is about his missing chopper. Which has been found in Mexico and his club sets out to retrieve it. Along the way “the Loser” as he’s repeatedly called, gets in an accident, then is arrested and ultimately dies. Boo fucking whoo! “Oh, no!” I’ve just given away the best part of the film if the word best can even be applied to this movie.
What’s wrong with this film? Well let’s see first the characters aren’t believable or likable and you can’t even hate them because it’s just so damn bad. The plot is weak, while the acting is weaker and then it goes to hell from there. The bongo music blows and I don’t mean that in a good way.
The film proceeds with the club wrecking the church where their brother’s funeral is held. If that isn’t enough they beat up the preacher and tie him up. Then a frenzied party takes place complete with dancing bikers, booze guzzling and of course bongo music. In addition they remove their dead buddy from his coffin and prop him up for the party. During the frenzy two of "the Loser’s" loyal brothers drug and rape his ole lady all while party central happens. Yea right!
The only part of this that was at all tolerable was the fact that they were actually riding Harley’s and not the bastardized Honda knockoffs some movies use. This movie was actually painful to watch because it is so damn bad.
I wouldn’t waste the lead on this one, it gets zero shots.
