I Bought a Vampire Motorcycle (1990)

I’ll warn you its bad however, I must say it did make me laugh out loud more than once. With that said; the humor is British, along with the slang, the garb of the day and the beautiful stock Norton Commander. This bike undergoes several metamorphoses while it continues its journey to the dark side. Watching the changes the bike goes threw was far more bearable than the acting.

The plot if that’s what you call this is about a Norton that is inhabited by a demon. The bike can’t go out during the day and it runs on blood; in some ways like most outlaw bikers I have known! The bike can run without a rider and goes on killing spree’s to fill its gas tank with blood. Of course garlic, the cross and daylight naturally can defeat the evil machine.

The movie is complete with an outlaw biker gang which is a rag tag team of British misfits lead by a Neanderthal looking lop. With as badly as the outlaws were portrayed it was no wonder the bike was out to kill them. The movie mentions that the gang in question was the Hell’s Angels, however I think not. There are no patches backing up that statement.

The bar fight scene is hilarious it’s corny and badly choreographed. Yet I could not stop watching it, kind of like a train wreck you just have to see what happens next. Had I stopped I would have missed the cartwheels provided expertly by the girlfriend of the vampire bike owner. Ask your self when was the last time you got to see a great cartwheel at a bar fight? We all know ole ladies always cartwheel during a bar fight. The only saving grace was the outlaw gang was actually riding Harley’s. However, it was the priest riding up on a trike that really did it for me. There he was in full priest regalia, with angel wings painted on the giant helmet everyone in the film seemed to wear. It’s a biker film not War and Peace and if you want something a little different check it out.

This get’s three shot’s and that’s how many I needed to watch it all the way through!
